چکیده
Understanding the differences in cool-season turfgrass responses to shade is critical for future management and breeding improved tolerance. The purpose of this study was evaluate shade-tolerance mechanisms two species terms turf performance, growth, physiological characteristics. Two species, namely, ’SupraNova’ (Poa. supina Schrad.) ‘Lark’ (Lolium perenne L.), were subjected 0 (CK, unshaded), 35% (LS), 70% (MS), 92% (HS) shade, respectively. Compared with ‘Lark’, ‘SupraNova’ showed better quality (TQ) color intensity (TCI) under shade. total length surface area roots gradually decreased as increased, while those increased then increasing chlorophyll fluorescence photochemical quenching coefficient (qP), electron transport rate (ETR), maximum quantum yield primary photosystem II (PSII) photochemistry (Fv/Fm) significantly HS; however, these decreases more significant than ‘SupraNova’. leaf reflectance turfgrasses lower that CK, but higher visible light band. normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) grasses first increased. NDVI slightly CK. strong tolerance on basis malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), superoxide anion (O2·?), ascorbic acid (AsA) contents dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) activity. MDA, H2O2, O2·?, AsA SOD, POD, CAT activity (which represent indicators) changed most MS. Taken together, results indicated adaptability ‘Lark’.

Aluminum Tolerances of Ten Warm-season Turfgrasses
Acid soils are abundant in tropical and subtropical regions and account for approximately 40 percent of arable land in the world. Next to oxygen and silicon, aluminum (Al) is the third most abundant element in soils and is the main toxic factor for plant growth in acidic soils. Therefore, two glasshouse studies were conducted to determine the influence of Al on root and shoot mass and nutrient ...

متن کاملEfects of Calcium on Antioxidant Acivities and Water Relations Associated with Heat Tolerance in Two Cool-season Turfgrasses
Calcium (Ca+) may be involved in plant tolerance to heat stress by regulating antioxidant metabolism or/and water relations. This study was designed to examine whether external Ca2+ treatment would improve heat tolerance in two C3, cool-season grass species, tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea L.) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.), and to determine the physiological mechanisms of Ca2+ effe...
متن کاملEvaluation of six cold-season turfgrasses responses to lead phytotoxicity for screening tolerant species
Lead (Pb) is one of the most hazardous heavy metal that caused serious problems for ecosystem at recent years. In this study, the effect of Pb on seed germination, incipient growth and antioxidant enzymes of six common used turfgrasses was investigated. The results showed that after implementation of different concentrations (0, 1000, 2000 and 3000 µM) of Pb, Agropyron elongatum exhibited the h...

Water deficit conditions, in addition to reduced water uptake, result in a reduction in nutrient uptake, and consequently, a substantial reduction in growth parameters, yield and quality. Substrate inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) as an environmentally friendly biofertilizer is an important strategy to improve the growth parameters and quality of products in such conditions. ...
